Unspec wroteVery easy DIY, although I would recommend having some spare door card clips on hand. I ended up breaking 4 doing all doors.Holy crap that's bright. Do you have a link to the product? Easy to DIY?
These are the LED modules that I got (12; 3 for each door):

I went with the classic BMW colors, but there are other options (red, bright orange, blue, purple).

I'm currently emailing this company now, asking additional questions about options for my pre LCI F10.
Latest email asks if I have the two color option for my ambient lighting. My standard, default color is orange.
Hopeful to get more info soon!
walmark wroteHuh, that looks stupid easy. Are they significantly brighter than OEM? Worried about them being maybe TOO bright at nightVery easy DIY, although I would recommend having some spare door card clips on hand. I ended up breaking 4 doing all doors.

Also, they're sold individually right? 2x2016 just indicates that there's 2 LED diodes per board?
Unspec wroteIf too bright, you can VO code a lower maximum "%"....dialing them to your preference, not BMW's (e.g. not bright enough)..Huh, that looks stupid easy. Are they significantly brighter than OEM? Worried about them being maybe TOO bright at night

Unspec wroteCorrect, they are sold as individual and you can choose the color.walmark wroteHuh, that looks stupid easy. Are they significantly brighter than OEM? The orange is somewhat brighter than stock LCI, but the white is much brighter. I also read that pre-LCI have very dim diodes, so it should be a significant improvement there. I have LCI and I'm happy I installed them.
You can still control their brightness via iDrive like the OEM (set to 50% they are similar to OEM at MAX), or there might be a coding option like M_Bimmer suggested.
defrag wroteNice, got the links?Installed the 6WB and NBT Evo retrofit this week into the F10. Very pleased with the difference. I love the iDrive 6 and wireless full screen CarPlay. The digital cluster is worlds better too.
Attached a few teaser shots.

Plenty of sites that offer the hardware and eBay is good too. Just need to do the coding or pay someone to do it for you.
there are namely two kinds of ambient lights in the market:
1) LED
this is similar to OEM just that it's brighter and even
2) Fiber Optic
this is not as bright as LED but it's not even, so some parts are brighter than others, the only good is it's very cheap...

I like this mod... might be doing it
while some might find it too ricey or JDM, most of the new conti cars come from the factory with ambient lights, overall after installing i find it creates an uplifting or sensual mood (depending on color) as as it makes the cabin look and feel bigger at night at the footwell is lit up, can see your pedals and legs too...
